One of the most beautiful pooja kalash is the Tala Vela Pooja Kalash. Hindus use this beautiful vessel to present offerings to Ganesha. The name “tala veela” comes from the word “tala”, which means “swinging or oscillating”, and “veela” which roughly translates to “a round vessel”. This pooja kalash is a large pot usually made with copper or brass and has intricate designs etched on its surface. Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals in the Hindu calendar. This festival is celebrated to thank Goddess Durga for her help in killing the evil demon king, Mahishasura. During the 10-day festival, the pooja kalash is called the Durga Puja Pooja Kalash. Durga Puja Pooja Kalash is kept on a stand and is usually made from silver but can also be made from other metals like copper and brass. The pooja kalash holds flowers, leaves, sweets, and other items used in the puja. The items inside the pooja kalash represent different things. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. During this festival, the pooja kalash is called the Krishna Janmashtami Pooja Kalash. This pooja kalash is made of brass and is kept during the ritual of worshipping baby Krishna. The pooja kalash holds flowers, leaves, sweets, and coins. The coins are kept in the pooja kalash as a sign of wealth and prosperity. In India, Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami, or the 8th day, of the Hindu calendar month of Shravana.
Diwali is one of the most important Hindu festivals and marks the celebration of good over evil. During Diwali, Hindus exchange gifts and light lamps and clean their homes. Diwali is also when you can find Diwali Pooja Kalash in the pooja stores. The Diwali Pooja Kalash is kept in the pooja thali and is used to present sweets, leaves, flowers, and water. Diwali Pooja Kalash is usually made from brass. The pooja thali is kept in the centre of the home, and the pooja kalash is kept beside the thali inside the pooja thali. Pooja thali is generally kept in the prayer room or the living room.
